Earlier this month, I had the great pleasure of partnering with Fashion Societe at one of their Image of Success networking events. My presentation, “How to Look Like a Million Bucks Without Spending It: A Style Tutorial for Ladies and Gentlemen”, was a top ten list focusing on fit, fashion and functionality. As a wardrobe consultant and stylist, I strongly believe that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look great. Follow the below tips and you will be on track to dressing for success:
- Fit: focus on a great fit, proper proportion and a flattering silhouette.
- Quality: the relationship between price and quality is not always consistent. Pay attention to the quality of a garment instead of the price.
- Color: color has an amazing transformative nature – use it to your advantage.
- Mix Textures: blend fabrications and and utilize different weights to create a luxe look with high impact.
- Cross Merchandise: purchase with a mix and match mentality.
- Shop Smarter: identify what you need to complete your wardrobe puzzle and create a budgeted buy plan.
- Spend Wisely: research discounts and promotions before purchasing at full price.
- Be Prepared: look at your schedule and plan your outfits in advance.
- Pay Attention to Detail: take care of your clothing. know when an item has expired or needs TLC.
- Wear What You Love: have fun with your look and people will be drawn to your energy.
