It’s official – we have reached the height of summer. Temps are high, vacations are underway, kids are happy and skin is golden. As much as I enjoy this relaxed season, high summer really means one thing to me: the perfect time to streamline.
At this juncture, you know which summer pieces you are reaching for frequently and those that are past their prime. And since we are typically a bit harder on summer clothes, it is rare that those favorite pieces of yore – the white dress that has seen on too many spills or espadrilles that are now fraying – can be successfully resurrected. High summer is the perfect opportunity to go through your warm weather wardrobe with a fine-tooth comb and donate items that are ready for pasture.
As an added bonus, if there are any summer items that your wardrobe would benefit from, you can still score some great summer pieces before the change of seasons. This proactive approach will ensure you are covered for both your current lifestyle and any resort travel during colder months. Minimal effort/maximal functionality. Now that is what I call a win/win.
