One Person's Struggle: Another Person's Strength

September 1st, 2015 admin

I am a disaster in the kitchen. Just totally and utterly hopeless. Grocery shopping gives me anxiety, as do grocery stores, and carrying bags of groceries home pisses me off. My attempts at ordering groceries online are slightly more successful, although the harsh reality is that I am too exhausted from managing myself, my son, my dog and two businesses to even think about being creative with what I bought. Thus the groceries sit in the fridge and turn into a colossal waste of money.

With the summer ending and the task of school lunch preparation haunting me, I finally decided to face this head on. I found a service that provides groceries, prepares great meals and uses every last piece of produce purchased. The service pays for itself with what I am saving on groceries alone. It’s genius.

Interestingly, my struggle with food prep runs parallel to the wardrobe challenges communicated to me by clients weekly. Overwhelming and underwhelming shopping experiences, futile online efforts, items purchased that are never worn, and, most frustrating of all, a feeling of dread when it comes to getting putting things together.

The good news: there is hope. Wardrobe consulting and personal shopping services exist to simplify that area of life. Items personally selected and hand delivered, outfits created, and sartorial needs met in a stress free, cost effective manner. The service pays for itself in opportunity cost alone. It is wardrobe management at it’s finest.
