Public Service Announcement: Winter is Coming

October 18th, 2015 admin

This blog post is meant as a friendly reminder that Winter is coming. The season starts every year around the same time (officially beginning on December 22nd this year) but the inclement weather typically associated with Winter has a mind of it’s own. Last year many of my clients were unprepared for the first snow storm and suffered unnecessarily.quoddy boot

Having the right gear is essential to survival in cold climates like the Northeast, yet warm coats and versatile boots tend to be a blind spot for purchasing. In an effort to be part of the shopping solution, I have come up with three categories of boots that will better prepare you for the cold days to come:

Cold Day with No Precipitation
You’ll need a pair of warm, shearling lined lightweight boots for the super cold days that insist of freezing your toes. Currently Obsessed With:
Women’s Quoddy Twinstrap in black calfhair and Mens Clark’s Montacute Lord in brown w lining

Cold Day with Mild-to-Moderate Precipitation
Find a pair of lower shaft boots with a rubber toe-cap for the occasional slushy puddle or light dusting of snow. Currently Obsessed With:
Women’s Sorel Tivoli Suede in Quarry and Men’s Sorel Kitchener Frost nubuck and rubber boots

Cold Day with Moderate-to-Heavy Precipitation
You’ll need a pair of heavy duty, tall shaft boots (preferably lined) with a waterproof foot for heavy snowfall. Currently Obsessed With:
Women’s Sorel Caribou boot in shale/stone or herringbone and Men’s Sorel 1964 Pac T canvas or leather boot

Order before November 1st to avoid backorder issues. Your feet will thank me.
