Yesterday was a great day. My perfect kind of day. Yesterday was a day of good fashion karma.
One of my very good friends owns a top Model Casting Agency in NYC. She is super sweet and super fun and super plugged in to the fashion industry. And, thanks to the Madonna concert the night before, she was also super hung-over. I answered her cries on Facebook by walking downstairs to her apartment with a coconut water. While I was changing her son’s diaper and getting him dressed for the day, she asked me if I wanted to accompany her to the Tribune Standard showing at 5pm. My reply – “Yes, please!”
The collection was gorgeous. It was fresh and very wearable and the details were totally unexpected. Bronze paillettes on poplin! White pom-poms on ivory leather! Shine for Spring!
In my opinion, the piece de resistance was a gorgeous textural ivory and lurex bustier. The cut was impeccable with a very open back and abbreviated peplum. It was love at first sight. In a split second I thought of five ways to wear it. So, while I am beyond excited for the seasons to change and forge full speed ahead into Fall ’12 fashion, I am now also very excited for the return of Spring. Thank you Tribune Standard!
