Cleanse Your Palette

I consider January to be the most transitional of months: the holiday hangover, the dreary weather and the picked over product result in a creative fog that leaves me bored and yearning for newness.

As a way to tide myself over until Spring product hits the stores, I go back to basics. Neutrals like black, white, gray and khaki look fresh with a splash of color and I like to cleanse my sartorial color palette with sorbet hues (hello raspberry sherbet). Execute with minimal investment by choosing an accessory as your color vehicle – I prefer a clutch or statement necklace – and you will move into 2014 looking refreshed and ready for Spring. Now if only the weather would cooperate.
