Finding Inspiration in the Small Things

I have the good fortune of living in a neighborhood filled with amazing architecture, art installations and kick ass graffiti. It makes a great backdrop for my glam fam photo shoots (I mean, who else has a fish head art installation a block away) but the real draw comes from the day to day inspiration I find in my immediate surroundings.

Luckily, inspiration can be found in places other than Brooklyn. No matter where you live or what you have on your agenda, nature and art are all around you and offer limitless creative opportunities. Whether it be a breathtaking sunset, the vibrant color of grass after a thunderstorm or a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting and a delicious lavender candy topper (my color palette inspiration du jour), finding inspiration in your surroundings will heighten your creativity and your happiness. If you don’t believe me, just give it a try. It’s pretty amazing what you can find with an open mind.
