A few months ago I made the split decision to have my hair extensions removed. Don’t get me wrong – I loved having full, long hair, countless styling options and a thick ponytail that could turn into a fishtail on a moment’s notice. Unfortunately, my wallet did not feel the same way. The upkeep was just too expensive and time consuming and, as a single mom, I was having a difficult time justifying the whole experience.
Thus, I abolished the extensions, dyed my hair dark and cut it into a short bob with full fringe bangs. It was liberating. I felt so much prettier and more like myself than with highlights and long hair. The only challenge this change presented was that it was a real haircut that required real styling. I needed some quick fix options for when I was pressed for time.
