As a stylist and personal shopper, staying fashionably current is my job. I am constantly in the market, reviewing fashion shows, stopping by showrooms and identifying looks that are relevant for my clients and myself. And, with each client’s style being different from the next, I have to sort through a lot of the seasonal statements.
Having so much access to product is amazing but can also be a touch overwhelming. While the Capricorn in me gravitates toward classic, timeless pieces, the New Yorker in me likes to live a little. To satisfy this dichotomy, I approach trends from a very authentic place. I buy only the items that I really love and incorporate these pieces in a way that feels natural. The result is an updated version of me that my friends will recognize and a personal style that is consistent and unique, albeit with a little bit of fringe detail for Spring ’15. After all, girl’s gotta live.
