Third Piece Polish

When I was in college I worked at a (then)trendy womens retail store and had to dress the part. The clothing was always form fitting and I never felt quite right unless I had an extra layer. I remember a co-worker exclaiming “Ali always wears jackets!?!” like it was a bad thing and I remember thinking to myself that I wouldn’t want it any other way. In my mind, a third piece was a way to express myself more sincerely and give my look more confidence. The payoff was higher sales and higher units per transaction because I understood how to elevate a look.

Ten years later, I still believe in the power of the third piece. The message doesnt need to be stuffy or serious – I like mine best back to ripped slim slouchy jeans and killer heels. Adding a tailored element to an otherwise casual look is instantly more grown-up. In my opinion, this is the best way to add polish to your look with minimal effort. And lets be honest, if your life is anything like mine, a quick fix is sometimes all your have time for.
