One of the services that I offer to my clients each season is facilitating the resale of items that dont fit into their wardrobe matrix. Whether it be a fit issue, a duplicate or a misguided impulse purchase, there are always a few items that can be edited. This fall, I processed over 200 pieces of mid-to-high-end items for resale. It was crazy. At one point Grey and I felt like we were living at like a consignment store.
Before selling the pieces on Ebay or dropping it at Second Time Around (who, btw, I love working with because they have a web-based inventory system), I designate pieces for client-to-client consignment. Since I know firsthand what each of my clients needs for that season I can identify opportunities. The seller makes more money than she would from a consignment store and the buyer pays far less than she would at retail. One womans gently used consignment is another womans wardrobe treasure. It is a match made in sartorial heaven.
